Sometimes I am wrong and sometimes I am not a good person.

There are many things more important than just pure academic achievement, for example charisma and kindness.
You do not have time. There probably isn’t a next time. There probably isn’t a better time. If an opportunity arises, take it.
If you are feeling the impulse of wanting to control a situation that isn’t yours to control you should address this feeling by ceasing whatever actions that give you the illusion of control.
Do what you want and what you like and what you think is right and your life will sort itself out.
